OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUTREACH

Reaching out to those in need is a fundamental part of who we are as a community of faith. At the heart of our various ministries is the understanding that we are able to offer hope because we have found our hope in God. We offer aid not out of our abundance, but out of God’s abundance. It is Jesus who instructs us to care for one another, and it is God who gives us the grace to follow Jesus’ command.

St. Vincent’s Soup Kitchen
St. Vincent’s kitchen is an ecumenical effort of five Hampton churches that provides dinner five nights a week, from mid-October through mid-May. Trinity sponsors two teams of volunteers who share the duties of preparing and serving as many as 80 meals on a given night. If you’d like to get involved please contact the office at 926-5688.

Trinity’s Food Pantry
Trinity's food pantry provides shelf stable foods and personal hygiene products to families in need within our community.  On average, Trinity’s pantry gives away more than $10,000 worth of food and household products to families in need each year.

The pantry is staffed by church volunteers every Saturday from 10 O'clock AM till Noon and by Hampton Community Coalition volunteers on Tuesdays and Thursdays, during the school year, from 10 O'clock AM till Noon .

Not only does the congregation provide food for the pantry, we also receive donations from the Boy Scouts, the Postal Workers, local schools, and generous individuals and businesses in the community. If you'd like to get involved with the Food Pantry, please call the office at 926-5688.

Oceanside Rehabilitation Center Visitors
Oceanside Rehabilitation Center, is also a local nursing home and is the glad beneficiary of a group of very dedicated volunteers who visit with and offer support and friendship to many of the residents. These pastoral visitors devote many hours to alleviating loneliness, fear and anxiety so many of these residents experience on a regular basis.  On the first Sunday of each month we gather with our friends at Oceanside for a celebration of Holy Eucharist. To become a pastoral visitor, please contact the office at 926-5688.

TASC (Transportation Assistance for Seacoast Citizens)
This is another ecumenical effort of six area churches and towns that provides free rides to senior citizens and those with disabilities to medical and other vital appointments.  Volunteers are needed to provide rides and to schedule rides. Training is offered for both positions. For more information about volunteering, or to get more information about who is eligible for these services, contact the TASC program director at 926-9026.

THE POWER OF
PRAYER

We have begun a new adventure here at Trinity using an ancient technique!

We are using the power of prayer: to reach out to others; to help them and their families in crisis or need; to strengthen ourselves and our faith life as well as those within our midst and all over the world.

We are witnesses to
the awesome power of our God in our midst ...
but now it is in bold print for all to see!

On the bulletin board in church foyer, you are invited to record your prayer requests.  Our goal is to create a place where we can see prayer needs as we come together as a praying community.  We have provided space to record the answers to prayers, as they come... in Jesus' name.  In this way, we can better see our Father at work in the middle of this family.  We also invite you to contact news@trinityhampton.org to add your prayer request to our internet prayer chain and become a witness through it.

We hope to accomplish even more than this as time goes on, but even with this humble beginning, word has spread and our tiny congregation is becoming known for its "Prayer Warriors."

Thank you all for your faithful prayers, and for our loving God's constant care.

It’s never too late to become a big or small part of
TRINITY’S OUTREACH PROGRAM

* Be a Pantry Volunteer –
give food to the needy on Saturday mornings.
* Collect and become a Box Tops for Education & Campbell Soup labels partner for Marston School
.  All you do is cut out the labels at home, bring them to church with you and place them in the boxes that are in the narthex. (Take look – they’re in the narthex now.)
*
Collection flip tops from aluminum cans.  We are partnered with Sister Doris in support of Betty's Dream (the facility that is home to working handicapped adults).  Just place them in a bag and when you come to church on Sundays.
* Collect pennies for scholarships for The Village PreSchool’s needier students in Hampton. What another easy way to perform outreach!  Bring your pennies to church and place them in the canister marked, “Pennies for Hampton
’s Kids.”  The canister is located in the narthex.
